If You Can Read This, SAY SOMETHING!

I have been blogging fairly regularly since last August now (sometimes more regularly than others). During my time of blogging about the “Adventures in Egypt” that I’ve experienced, I have been watching the statistics of visitors to my blog. This is not so I can brag to people about how many hits my blog gets each day, but so that I can see if anyone actually reads this crazy little blog of mine. That, and seeing how many visitors I get makes me feel like I should blog more often to keep everyone happy. Why am I going on about all of this to you folks? Well, my website statistics provider displays a map of the world when I log in to check my stats. On that map, it places a dot on every city where someone has read my blog for the past week. When I first started blogging back in August there was a big dot in Calgary… and that’s about it. But now, as I check that map each week, I notice dots scattered all over the map. From India, New Zealand, Australia, Europe, Africa, and all over the United States, among other places! There have been so many dots all over the United States alone that I have no idea how these people are finding out about my blog, or who they are. So, today I want to do a little experiment and remove some of the mystery from these dots! If you read my blog, would you mind leaving a comment on this blog and telling me these three things about yourself:

-Who are you?
-How do you know me?
-What city/state/province/country are you reading this blog from?

Pretty simple, right? Ok, I’m going to bed now. Stay tuned to hear about my experience with a ‘Khamseen’ (Bonus question for your comment: What do you think a khamseen is? No Googling allowed. That’s cheating)!

Ryan - I subscribe to your RSS feed, so this is probably only the second time I've actually ever been to your site. I doubt I was even included in your web traffic reports! Anyway, my name is Kacie and my sister is Erin (John's wife) -- she told me about your blog shortly after you started there. Although I'm deeply offended that you hate babies (particularly my perfect nephew), I enjoy reading your experiences in the country where my sister lives. So, keep 'em coming! Hope to meet you in person when we come out in May.

Ryan Monsoooooooon. I read your blog daily, because I live in Regina and really, don't have a life at all. Ha ha. I think a whatever that word is, is a canteen. It kind of sounds like it. But I could be wrong. I love the updates, and we are praying for you, buddy.

Hey Monson, My name is Amanda and I promoted things for you last year. Sometimes I promote you... to a floor full of hot women. Sometimes I don't. Although apparently you're getting too old.. sorry to hear that. I'm in calgary, but I think I've read your blog in Edmonton too.

Hi, Ryan!
Surely you have changed your mind about babies after being around my wonderful grandson... I am Erin's mother, Pastor John's mother-in-law, and Ethan's grandmother! I am also Kacie's(see last post) mother. She did not mention that she is from Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA. We are in Rolla, Missouri, USA. We enjoy your blog so much! It is insightful into the culture--and you are so funny! I won't forget the Youth Service, Fall 2005. The news cast was hilarious! Thanks for all you do for the kids (and the Tuckers!).

Monson!!

I've greatly enjoyed reading your blogs, and I feel like I know you better than I did before you left for onsite, but alas - you don't really know me. You might remember Karl Hanson from your youth group leader days, well he's my brother. I chated with you a couple times last year and guess what?! I'm going on onsite to Argentina next year! WOOO HOO Anyhow, I want to encourage you to keep blogging and next year maybe you can keep up with my blog in Argentina!

Hello my son, What a great idea, reading these comments is almost as much fun as reading your blogs! I vote for Vicki and Kacie, A++. I'm sure you know what I mean... In case anyone else is interested I live in a tiny Hamlet called Priddis which is near Calgary and I bore this comedic genius, I mean that literally!

Ryan, my name is Mandy, and I live in Calgary. I wouldn't dare read your blog from anywhere else in the world. I hear you've been doing some modelling...that's good. I haven't.

It's Becca here - in Calgary - not going anywhere. I used to get short stories from you and vise versa. Looking forward to Chapter 2!

Hey bro, this is the preggy sis who laughed her head off at your most recent Uncle Ryan Post. Anyhoo, I live in the cutest little town in Alberta, Sexsmith. I also had a blog (Adventures in Smalltown Alberta) but it got much to boring and has since been ignored. That's a pretty clear indication of life here I guess. Ciao

Hey, sorry I am a little late jumping on this bandwagon. It's your non small town sis here. Those hits from different places in Thailand and India would be from me. I'll be adding a few hits from El Salvador and Mexico soon. As for a lot of the US hits, those would also be from me, anywhere from Seattle to Boise to LA, Mississippi and anywhere in between. I just sent 12 Discipleship Training School students home to the four corners of the USA, all of them faithful readers of your blog. Cheers bro

umm yeah. my name's jacquie. i'm on onsite too. i know you from, school and stuff...and from onsite training (remember that weird little sour cream, spicy beef rice, fruit thing? i currently reside in te anau, new zealand. that's the little island just to the right of australia. oh yeah, and they speak english here (you'd be surprised at the questions i've gotten from ignorant canadians. ha)
THE END!

Careful Jacquie, there are a lot of American people reading this blog. I don't want them to know that Canada isn't perfect.

Just passing by, saw your Blog listed somewhere and decided to visit. Apparently I'm the only Arab to leave a comment on this Post. Er, like your Blog!

El Khamaseen... why the annual Egyptian sandstorms heralding the end of winter and coming of Spring. Im Egyptian, so that shouldn't count either.
